The Office of Career Planning and Development receptionist job responsibilities are as follows:
  • greet persons entering office
  • notifies office staff of visitor arrival
  • answer telephone, screen and direct calls
  • take and relay messages
  • provide information to callers
  • direct visitors to correct destination
  • ensure knowledge of staff movements in and out of organization
  • monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness
  • provide general administrative and clerical support as needed by CPAD staff
  • perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
The CPAD receptionist represents the first point of contact for faculty, staff, students and visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately. They are required to have good communication skills. They will spend most of the workday communicating with staff members and visitors, and in order to communicate effectively, they should be a good listener as well.
