Media Staff – Media Center – Student Worker

JOB FUNCTIONS:
·   Assists with operations and services performed at the Media Center Service Desk including but not limited to: administrative/clerical duties; user assistance; facility scheduling; greeting users/answering telephone; circulating items/equipment; selling supplies/commercial items; making copies; and other related activities
·   Assists with the booking, scheduling, and environmental readiness of Media Center rooms, labs, and other physical facilities
·   Provides assistance with on-site usage of equipment and other resources
·   Assists with technology-related projects, as directed
·   Assists with circulation-related functions including processing of materials and stack maintenance
·   Utilize departmental computer software programs and resources
·   Assists with other projects related to the Steven E. Rogers Media Center and the Paul Meek Library
·   Performs other duties as assigned
 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong communication skills that accommodate a diverse population of users and learners
Must be dependable, attentive to detail, be able to recognize anomalies, and deal with varied and somewhat complex procedures
Demonstrated proficiency with computers and software, particularly Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), some knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and video editing is preferred
Need to be familiar with Mac and Windows operating systems
Willingness to learn new technologies related to the Media Maker Space
Ability to work under direct supervision within an independent office/functional environment
Must be available to work evenings and weekends. All staff members have one 8:00 to midnight shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; climb on a step stool and/or ladder
Grade Point Average (GPA) – minimum 2.5 [on a 4 point scale]
