Media Makerspace Student Worker
Student Worker Responsibilities:
- Greet users as they come thru the door.
- Answer the phone in a courteous and timely manner.
- The media makerspace student worker will offer basic education and train users on the technology and equipment available in the Makerspace.
- Manage the Circulation Computer (Check-Out/Check-In resources)
- Process a purchase.
- Complete task assigned in a timely manner. A sample task would be shelving DVD’s, laminating a project for a student, helping a student in the makerspace area.
- Will provide proactive customer service and technical support to users of the makerspace.
- Ensure the Makerspace environment and equipment is clean, safe and ready for operation.
- Conduct general troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment, furnishings, and software related to the makerspace.
- Other duties as assigned.
Student Worker Qualifications:
- Proven ability to serve customers effectively and positively in a busy environment, including exercising sound independent judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Be responsible, patient and respectful.
- Knows how to manage their time (shows up to work on time).
- Able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Availability to work varied shifts and hours.
- Able to lift and carry up to 40lbs.
- Must follow the policies established by the University and the PML
